CVE ID:

CVE-2018-19447

CVSS Score:

7.5, (AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H)

Affected Vendors:

Foxit

Affected Products:

  • Foxit Reader SDK ActiveX Std
  • Foxit Reader SDK ActiveX Pro

Vulnerability Details:

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of Foxit Reader SDK ActiveX Pro. User interaction is required to exploit this vulnerability in that the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file.

The specific flaw exists within the parsing of URI strings. When parsing a PDF file, the process does not properly validate the length of user-supplied data prior to copying it to a fixed-length stack-based buffer. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to execute code under the context of the current process.
