Vulnerability Details:

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations of ATutor. Authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability however authentication bypass vulnerabilities are known and remote registration is open by default.

The specific flaw exists in the ‘editor_tab_functions.inc.php’ script. The method write_temp_file() contains vulnerable parameters allowing for an attacker to write arbitrary content to the web application. A remote attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code under the context of the web server.
